Digital Evidence Warehouse

The Challenge

The attorney's office needed to manage thousands of digital pieces of evidence securely while enabling real-time collaboration between investigators, prosecutors, and legal teams across 50+ agencies.

The Approach

  • Designed microservices architecture with independent services for evidence ingestion, storage, retrieval, and audit trails
  • Implemented WebSocket-based real-time updates so all stakeholders saw immediate changes
  • Integrated LibreOffice for in-browser document collaboration
  • Built comprehensive audit logging for legal compliance

The Impact

Enabled 50+ agencies to collaborate on evidence management with 60% faster retrieval times and complete chain-of-custody tracking.

Payroll Stamping at Scale

The Challenge

Government regulations require every payroll transaction to be stamped and certified by a third-party government body. The existing system couldn't handle the volume, causing delays in salary payments for thousands of employees.

The Approach

  • Architected event-driven system using message queues to handle 1M+ daily stamp requests
  • Implemented distributed caching strategy to prevent database overload during peak hours
  • Designed automatic retry mechanisms with dead-letter queues for failed transactions
  • Built real-time monitoring dashboard for operational visibility

The Impact

Processed 1M+ daily stamps with 99.9% uptime. Reduced failed transactions from 3% to near-zero through intelligent retry mechanisms.

Risk Questionnaire Platform

The Challenge

The institution needed to assess occupational risks across all government employees but had fragmented systems with inconsistent data. Questions had to be customized per department and reports needed to meet legal requirements.

The Approach

  • Applied Hexagonal Architecture to separate business logic from infrastructure concerns
  • Designed dynamic questionnaire engine that adapts to role and department
  • Built PDF and Excel report generation with legal compliance formatting
  • Created optimized database queries reducing report generation time by 60%

The Impact

Centralized risk assessment for 10,000+ employees with standardized compliance reporting and 60% improvement in report generation speed.

Database per Service

Each service owns its data. No cross-service queries. Enables independent deployment and scaling.

Event-Driven

Async communication via message queues. Decouples producers from consumers, enabling resilience and scale.

Fault Tolerance

Retry mechanisms, dead-letter queues, and circuit breakers. Failures should be gracefully handled.

How I Work

Technical Philosophy

Years of building distributed systems have taught me that good architecture isn't about choosing the latest patterns—it's about understanding trade-offs and making decisions that serve the business problem.

Currently exploring

Kubernetes orchestration · Golang · Event-driven microservices

Architecture Serves the Problem

I don't choose technologies or patterns because they're trendy. I design systems that solve specific problems at scale. Microservices when team autonomy matters. Hexagonal architecture when business logic needs protection. Event-driven when decoupling enables resilience.

Reliability is Non-Negotiable

For government systems handling citizen data, 99.9% uptime isn't aspirational—it's required. I design for failure: retry mechanisms, dead-letter queues, circuit breakers, and comprehensive monitoring aren't optional extras.

Data Ownership and Boundaries

Services should own their data. I've learned through experience that cross-service database queries create tight coupling and deployment nightmares. Clear boundaries enable independent scaling and team autonomy.

Lead through Code and Example

Technical leadership means staying hands-on. I architect systems, write code, mentor teams, and establish standards—because credibility comes from doing, not just directing.

Open Source

Side Projects

Beyond client work, I contribute to the developer community through open source libraries and tools.
